Our Beliefs

God & The Bible

Greater Works Christian Center believes there is one God, who lives in three persons: God the Father and authority; God the Son and example; God the Holy Spirit and teacher. We believe that all scripture (The Bible) is God-inspired and completely true. The message of the scripture teaches truth, brings wisdom and induces faith. (Genesis 1:26, John 10:30; 17:17, 2 Timothy 3:16; )

Salvation

Greater Works Christian Center believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal salvation with God the Father. Christ is the mediator who reconciles God and humanity. We are saved by grace through faith, we cannot do enough good things to earn salvation. You must confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved. (Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Romans 10:9)

Baptism

Greater Works Christian Center

believes in water baptism, as written in God's word and demonstrated by Jesus Christ. Through baptism, believers are able to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:13; 28:19, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4)

Discipleship

Greater Works Christian Center believes in the ministry of discipleship, empowering believers to live out the teachings of Jesus Christ. We believe that through discipleship, believers are equipped to grow spiritually, reflect Christ’s love, and share His message with the world. Following the example of John 14:12, we affirm that those who follow Christ are called to do "greater works" by continuing His mission, both in personal transformation and in spreading the Gospel. (John 14:12; Matthew 28:19-20)

Man

Greater Works Christian Center believes that man was created in the image of God; male and female. Man was uniquely created with personality, power and purpose. Sin separated man from God and as a result man isn't able to have right relationship with God through his own effort. (Genesis 1:26-30, Genesis 2:18, Genesis 3, 1 Timothy 2:5)

Marriage

We believe that marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God, defined as the union between one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:18;

Mark 10:6-9)

Eternity

Greater Works Christian Center believes that man will exist forever for with God through salvation or be forever separated from God by sin. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:11-15, Revelation 21)

Five-Fold Gifts

Greater Works Christian Center believes in the Fivefold Ministry as outlined in Ephesians 4:11-13, where Christ has appointed apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry and to build up the body of Christ. We affirm that each of these roles is essential for the growth, unity, and maturity of the church. We recognize that these gifts are from God to lead, guide, and strengthen believers in their faith and service. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

Spiritual Gifts

Greater Works Christian Center believes that all believers have been given spiritual gifts to strengthen the Church and demonstrate God’s power and existence to unbelievers. (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Peter 4:10)
